A Response to “Guns, Games and Violence: The Real Questions You Should Be Asking”

This post is a response to Brian Crecente’s article on Polygon, “Guns, Games and Violence: The Real Questions You Should Be Asking”. Brian expresses his thoughts and opinion on the effects of violent video games on people, mostly using examples of his teenage son. An interesting point that Brian brought up was the fact that “In so efficiently designing and redesigning gun games to eke out every drop of fun and minimize any moment of inaction, game designers are accidentally creating the worst sort of games for change”. His somewhat different perspective on the topic is very refreshing, and I have not personally thought about his views when discussing the matter.

However if I was to make one criticism, it’s that I don’t believe he made his views clear enough until the very end. This could potentially make the readers lose interest
